I have been ESFJ for so long I haven’t questioned it, but recently when I retook the test I got ESFP. J stands for Judging which means you prefer order and structure in your day. P is for Perceiving which means you are flexible and spontaneous. I thought it was interesting when I decided to look up Careers for these two personality types:

ESFJ

Home Economics

Nursing

Teaching

Administrators

Child Care

Family Practice Physician

Clergy or other religious work

Office Managers

Counselors / Social Work

Bookkeeping / Accounting

Administrative Assistants

ESFP

Artists, Performers and Actors

Sales Representatives

Counselors / Social Work

Child Care

Fashion Designers

Interior Decorators

Consultants

Photographers

Yep, I thought that was interesting because they’re all things that I’m interested in :) Why am I an accounting major? :(

EDIT: YAY I just reread the list and saw accountant :D

Time for a list of goals for the semester!

Get an internship ASAP for experience, money, resume, and fun.

Start studying for my classes. 15 hours is not going to study itself. I need to set apart time in my schedule to read/work.

Narrow down my extracurricular involvement. I guess church/small group won’t count as one cus it’s a part of my life. And I just started my Chinese dance org so I’m committed to that.

Get regular sleep. Preferably have a sleep schedule where I can wake up at 9am :) my naps aren’t working well for me.

Develop an interest in current events. Seems reasonable and useful.

Upload my pictures from the summer, my study abroad, and the semester. I wanna get around to this soon lol.

Just feeling more prepared is making me so excited to go back to school now :) Also I won’t be bored out of my mind like I am at home lol. So far my schedule isn’t too pretty…four classes mwf and one class tth. Hopefully when add/drop comes around on Friday I’ll be able to get into 2 of my waitlist classes! I’m 3rd on both of them :) Okay I need to start packing for move-in on saturday!

A prayer

Just got back from Helping Hands Concert 2011. It really makes me miss those summers I spent at DCCYC :\

I want this to be my prayer:

Ruin my life, the plans that I’ve made
Ruin desires for my own selfish gain
Destroy the idols that have taken your place
Til it’s you alone I live for

Ruin Me by Jeff Johnson

Stay busy

I am already so bored of being at home. I feel like I need to be constantly occupied by doing something or seeing people…especially after everything that’s been happening. I know it’s been almost a month but it still feels like yesterday when we were standing by my car to kiss goodbye before I left for Denmark. Neither of us would’ve thought that it would be our last kiss forever…

ANYWAYS I need to think happy thoughts and stay busy sooo I’m going to ramble about things I need to do or have already done.

-Cleaned my room and my bathroom, even though I have to pack it all up to move into my apartment in Austin next week
-Returned to my daddy all my leftover Euros, Pounds, and my passport
-Did all my laundry from Copenhagen and folded all my clothes
-About to start hand-washing my clothes that require it
-Buy some bread so I can make toast with scrambled eggs and strawberry jam
-Upload all my pictures from Europe this summer
-Do my nails. I found this cute thing called newspaper nail art so I’m thinking about trying that
-Print pictures to make a new poster collage (I obviously can’t use the one I had last year) and also change out my framed ones in my room…
-Hopefully get flexible again
-Maybe start watching a new show?

Okay I’m obviously out of ideas. It’s hard trying to think of things to do on your own when you’ve had someone to do everything with for the past two years straight.

Finally homee

I can’t believe my summer study abroad trip has come to an end. I knew I was going to dread this day, but I am so much more emotionally attached than I thought I would be. The last couple of weeks were so sad because we all knew it was coming to an end. I just wanted to cherish every last moment of it while I could. On the final day, I was such a mess. I knew I was going to miss the beautiful city, the awesome group of friends, and the amazing experience I had while I was in Copenhagen. I couldn’t even imagine waking up the next morning and not meeting up with the group. When my plane landed in Dallas, I wondered why did I even come home (besides the fact that I had to go to a wedding the next morning). But now I am definitely back in reality and my wonderful European vacation is over. I will never forget this eye-opening experience. I’ve seen life through such a global perspective. I even know more about other states in America now lol. I’m going to know people from all parts of the world. Even though at the goodbye party I was crying, I was also laughing at the same time because I will never forget the amazing people and the great memories I’ve had. I know we will all keep in touch because we have this experience that will bond us together.

Mon, July 25
I had a group presentation for my Doing Business In Europe class. It was about the institutional and cultural perspectives of opening a Swarovski’s from Austria to Hungary. We were required to do a presentation in order to sit for the test.

Tues, July 26
It was my neighbor’s birthday so we went to lunch at a fancy restaurant in Kogens Nyrtorv. I had crab pasta and an Italian Sunrise! Then we walked around the park, went into some shops, and bought soccer scarves. For dinner we all went to a restaurant called Dalle Valle because on mon and tues everything is 50% off.

Thur, July 28
It was raining all day so I caught up on 3 episodes of Pretty Little Liars. Then after dinner, we all got into our comfy sweats and played games. It was a really fun night in :) even though the next morning I was sick then slept til 4pm lol

Sat, July 29
The school gave us free tickets to an FC Kobnhavn football (soccer) game. I got to wear my soccer scarf :) I felt so spirited lol. Then when we got back we watched Eurotrip - definitely fitting for our trip.

Tues, Aug 2
The rest of the weekend I was studying for final exams because its the only grade that counted for me in the class. My first test was 9am-1pm and I wrote full-length essays on 3 out of 6 prompts on the computer. I took a quick lunch break (my last smoked salmon bagel sandwich) and crammed more for my next test. The second test was 3pm-7pm and I answered 20 short answer questions on a computer.

Then since we were all done with exams, for dinner we went to a Mexican restaurant called Senorita. The quesadilla was made really weird (cheese on top instead of inside), didn’t come with guacamole or pico de gallo, and the margarita was tiny. Then we went bar hopping til 3am lol

Wed, Aug 3
I had my last chocolate croissant from my favorite bakery Hodenboff. Then spent the afternoon shopping in Norreport. I ended up buying a few souvenirs and a cardigan and dress from Zara. Then we all met up for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Copenhagen! I had a delicious macaroni and chicken with cheese pasta and also a Sex On The Beach cocktail! It was soo yummy :)

In the evening we went down to the Little Mermaid statue and took pictures. Then we went bar hopping for my friend’s birthday and ended the night dancing and eating McDonalds. They played Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls at L.A. Bar!

Thur, Aug 4
My final full day in Copenhagen. I had my last hot dog from a hot dog stand. It was so yummy but sad :/ Then went shopping in Frederiksborg Centre and Norreport and I bought some souvenirs and gifts. Then we had our last dinner at our go-to restaurant Efess :( it was so sad.

In the evening the school organized a Goodbye Party for us at Club Celcius. Needless to say, I cried a lot and took lots of sad pictures but with people who I had great memories with. Took a taxi home. Cried. Packed. Cried. Took metro to airport. Cried. Said goodbye.

Now I’m back in Dallas.

Day 33

I can’t believe I’ll be coming home in 9 days from today. This is the most I’ve felt like I’ve been on vacation. Everything is so fun and carefree and easygoing. I never have to worry about studying or money or planning. There’s always someone else to talk to or hang out with so I don’t have to do things on my own. I have barely studied at all and today and tomorrow are my last two days of classes. It’s like living in my own little Copenhagen bubble. I feel like a completely different person here!

While I’ve been here I constantly have songs stuck in my head. The songs I’ve been singing the most are Party Rock Anthem, Run The World, You Be Killin Em, and No Hands. I think I’ve realized I have a few artists that I like consistently: Pitbull, Britney Spears, Trey Songz, Pussycat Dolls, and Beyonce :)

Yesterday I ate about ¼ of my Nutella jar. Thank you, PMS.

I don’t know how I’m going to be able to survive the Texas heat when I get back. The weather here is always 50-70ish and it’s mostly rained on the few weekends I was traveling outside the country, so pretty much perfect. I am falling in love with scarves and I definitely put all my cardigans to good use. I’m also falling in love with the Metro system. It is so convenient and quick and takes me everywhere and I walk so much - I’ve never felt so in shape before. There’s almost no point of ever wearing heels because of the cobblestone and no one really drives cars. Living in Europe has been such a great experience after living in Texas pretty much my whole life.

Thurs, July 7
The business school put on a Danish Folk Dancing lesson for us. At first we thought it was super awkward because they were all old people, but it was actually a lot of fun learning the dances. I was laughing so hard trying to figure out which direction we were supposed to be moving.

Then afterwards the school got us VIP access to a really nice club called Karel Van Mander. The bathroom was soo cool; there were couches, shaggy carpets, a coffee table, vanities, and a lady next to an entire make-up display. The dance floor was really nice too and every once in a while there would be an air freshener mist sprayed so it felt and smelled really good lol. All the regular people coming in looked like runway models. I heard that it usually costs 100 Krones for entrance fee ($20).

Sat, July 9
We went to the Copenhagen Beach Party. The beach was pretty nice but it was a bit chilly and the water was freezing. Then we went to the Red Bull Cope n’ Waken event, which was actually really lame. It sucked that the only tan lines I got were from my tank top while walking to the Red Bull thing. Ooo then I went home and finished the series finale of The O.C. finally! :) It took me 9 weeks to finish the entire series lol.

Sun, July 10
We spent most of the day at Kronborg Castle, the castle where Shakespeare’s Hamlet play is based on. It was so confusing trying to figure out which train to take and the ride took 45 minutes. It was really pretty and relaxing though and the weather was perfect.

That night we were planning on going to a bar called Rub-A-Dub but the metro closed down while we were on it so we had to walk the rest of the way and got lost in the city. We ended up getting food from 7-11 (which is really big here in Copenhagen..there’s one every few blocks) and hanging out by a nice lake. Then the metro and the trains were closed and we didn’t know how to take the bus, so we ended up walking home for almost half an hour and finally caught a taxi.

Tues, July 12
After class we climbed about 20 flights of stairs/ladders to the top of the spire of Church of Our Saviour tower. You could see so much of Copenhagen from the top of the tower and everything was so beautiful :) Then we went to Christiania, which is like an independent area inside Copenhagen where marijuana is legal. It was pretty sketch so we took a really quick walk through it lol.

Wed, July 13
After class the school put on a Danish film for us called Adams Aebler (Adam’s apples). It was supposed to be a comedy, but I guess it was Danish humor. IMDb’s description of the movie: A neo-nazi sentenced to community service at a church clashes with the blindly devotional priest.

At night there was an International Night Party but it was a hang-out-at-a-coffee-shop kind of atmosphere. It was pretty lame so we didn’t stay long lol. Then we went to L.A. Bar but it was too crowded so went to McDonalds and got 2 Big Macs, fries, and a drink for 70 Krones! Then the metro was closed again so took a taxi home.

Thurs, July 14
We watched Harry Potter 7 p2 at 6 pm…and I actually liked it! It cost about $17 but apparently that’s a regular price in Denmark.

Fri, July 15 – Sun, July 17
Despite everything that happened, I tried to enjoy myself on our weekend trip to Berlin, Germany. We had to meet at 5:30am for an 8 hour bus ride including 1 hour where the bus was on a ferry. The city was so beautiful with lots of tall trees and tall buildings and so much culture and the weather was really nice all weekend. We stayed at Seibert Hotel and I shared a room with a girl named Eva.

On Friday night we had dinner at a restaurant called White Trash. I ate cheesy potato soup, a goat cheese and pesto burger, and a brownie a la mode. The place felt really Austiny :) Then the school took us to a bar called Sky Beach which was an outdoor beachy place on the roof of a mall lol so random. Too bad it was kind of cold when we were up there so we left in about an hour.

On Saturday we had a 3-hour tour of the city and then had free time. We ended up walking 9 ½ hours straight! My favorite part was when we rode a 6-person circular bike and since I was the 7th person I got to sit in the middle on the handles! It was only 1 Euro each :) Then at night the school took us to a club called Cascade. The happy hour drinks were buy 1 get 1 free and the music was really good. It was a great night lol.

On Sunday I woke up and was rushing to breakfast when I realized that my clock had been set an hour fast…so I was packed and ready before most people were even awake :. We had a 2-hour tour of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. It was such an eerie experience and it felt weird taking pictures with people in them. I heard stories and saw places that no one should ever have to experience. Then I slept 5 of the 8-hour bus ride then when I got home I slept another 11 hours.

Mon, July 18
We cooked a Danish dinner at our Danish friend Jakob’s apartment. We had a great salad, garlic bread, Danish meatballs, boiled potatoes, and a yummy red wine gravy sauce. It was the most deliciousss dinner I had in Copenhagen! Then we ended up playing drinking games till 1am and missed the last S-train home and had to take a taxi.

Wed, July 20
Finally had some retail therapy! Nora and I took the Metro to Kongens Nytorv and shopped at H&M for over 2 hours lol. I spent 480 Krones and she spent 600. Everything in Denmark is so expensive :\ But it felt sooo good to shop!

Then at night we went to the amusement park TIVOLI!!! The rides were so good and the food was yummy and place was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We got unlimited-ride passes for 290 Krones and went on 6 rides. I felt like such a carefree child and I was so excited the whole time! Oh, and Tivoli spelled backwards is I lov it! :)

Possibly one of my favorite days of my entire trip <3

Thur, July 21
It was pouring the entire day but the school organized an International Dinner for us. I just brought a pack of chocolate chunk cookies lol. It was so cool trying food from all over the world for free! I would stack up my plate with food then walk and eat as I kept grabbing more food. There was a Mid-Summer Party afterwards too but we decided it was too rainy and we needed to pack for our trip.

Fri, July 22 – Sun, July 24
We went on our own weekend trip to Stockholm, Sweden. We had to wake up at 5am to catch our flight that was only 45 minutes. Then we had to figure out how to navigate the city to get to our hostel. We stayed in a 14-person mixed room that was actually really fun. It was pretty much the attic lol. And there was free wifi and breakfast and the comforter was really comfortable. The city itself was BEAUTIFUL. We stayed at a hostel that was facing the water and the entire city surrounded the lake/Baltic Sea. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of everything because it was all so perfect. Even the weather was amazing even though it was pouring Copenhagen all weekend.

On Friday we went to an amusement park Grona Lund. It was soo much fun!! I ate so much junk food it was great :) We only had time to go on 5 rides. Then we walked around the city and ate at a fast food place called Max. My cheeseburger was only 15 Swedish Krones! Then we hung out by the water and watched the sun set :)

On Saturday we did a Hop-on Hop-off Tour so we saw the Royal Palace, City Hall (where the Nobel Prize banquet is held), and Skansen Open Air Museum. Then we spent forever trying to figure out the Metro system to get to IKEA, which originated in Sweden. We ate Swedish meatballs and they tasted just like the ones at home lol. Afterwards we got Belgian waffles with ice cream and bought souvenirs.

On Sunday we did a Boat Tour and went to the Vasa Museum. It’s this HUGE Viking ship from the 17th century that floated for only 20 minutes then sank lol. Then we had to leave for the airport :(

So pretty much almost every day is jam-packed. I’m constantly making lists of what we’ve done and what we still need to do or see. I should really be settling down to start studying for my exams next week (mine are both on Tuesday back to back ugh) but I don’t want to put off going to the last few places I want to see still! And one day I will upload all my pictures onto Facebook lol.

HP

So I’m currently reading Harry Potter Wikisummaries before watching the new movie in 7 hours! I’ve never read the books before and haven’t watched since the third movie…so I have no idea what’s going on lol. My movie ticket cost $17 in Copenhagen! Hopefully I won’t die of boredom or confusion tonight.

This is my roomie in Copenhagen! Her name’s Ella and she’s from Oregon :)

Day 14

It’s been so hard to find time to get on the computer! There is constantly stuff to do here even when I’m just planning on taking a nap. It’s nice though because I never have to plan stuff out. More than likely someone else will make a plan then invite people to come with. Life is so much easier for me this way :)

I feel like I’ve been so open-minded here and willing to meet anyone I come across. Mostly I’ve just met Americans because there are so many in my dorm. At this summer program there are 500 international students and 1,200 Danish students here. I’ve finally started meeting a few Danish people in my classes, like Andreas, Anja, Ulrich, and Xia (yeah obviously the last one’s Asian). Fun facts: one of my classes is in KPMG Auditorium, and the biggest sponsor for our school is Carlsberg Brewery haha.

My marketing professor is from Indiana and reminds me of a turtle because he talks slow and has a sleepy smile. My business in europe professor is British and his voice is really monotonous. Both classes have about 40 people in them. So far I haven’t had any motivation to study. Just two hours of class a day feels miserable. But it’s so interesting in my classes because everyone comes from different cultures, backgrounds, schools, and languages.

I’ve really started to get used to this weather. I can finally wear shorts in 60 degrees without freezing! And it’s been weird texting on my phone here knowing that it’s not unlimited. I can’t tell how much money is left on my phone because all the information is in Danish. Also I found out I can call/text America but I don’t know what the rate is and I don’t know how to check lol.

I went shopping at H&M one time but it was hard to tell how much things cost because everything seemed so expensive. For example, a 120 Krone top is actually only $24. But besides that one time I’ve barely had time to shop because I’m constantly traveling or sight-seeing. And I can feel/see my thighs are getting toned from climbing so many stairs LOL. I’m starting to fall in love with taking the metro. I usually take it about 6 times a day and it’s so convenient, reliable, and fast :)

Mon, Jun 27:
After class me, Ella, and Abby (both girls from Oregon) took the metro down to Norreport to explore the city. We walked around for two hours even though all the shops were closed (including 3 H&Ms) and we ended up just taking lots of pictures, especially with elephants, then getting delicious ice cream with melted marshmallow on top! All the streets and buildings in the city look so beautiful and there’s so much culture everywhere.

Tues, Jun 28
After class a big group of us, about 10 people, went into the city to look for a castle. We ended up just walking in circles and being lost until we found the royal palace but it was about to close. Either way we got to see a lot of the city! And of course we got ice cream too :)

Wed, Jun 29
The temperature finally hit a high of 70 degrees! It felt soo nice :) After class we went on a canal tour but it kind of sucked because I had a seat in the middle of the boat so I couldn’t see much. Then that night we went to a bar called The Moose and I bought my first drink, an apple cider!

Thurs, Jun 30
Went to class exhausted on 5 hours of sleep (thus starting my consecutive nights of <6 hours of sleep). My roommate’s family flew in so I hung out with my neighbors. Then at night we all went to this really big club/bar called Kulor Bar. The cover to get in was 80 krones ($16) but there was unlimited beer til 1am. Sooo (BIG SURPRISE) I drank beer for my first time! It just tasted like champagne, but maybe because it was watered down lol. Anyways I’m proud of myself :) The rest of the night was blur…lots of beer spilled on me and my clothes soaked through with sweat. When I got home there was mud up my legs and a bruise on my stomach and thigh :\ But anyways it was probably the most exciting night we’ve had!

Fri, Jul 1 - Sun, Jul 3
Went on a weekend cruise to Oslo, Norway! There was a 3-course dinner and buffet breakfasts. There was a duty-free shop so I got Absolute Peach, Pringles, and a 19-pack of Twix lol.

Oslo itself was so beautiful! We only got 5 hours to look around but we got a 2-hour walking tour, saw the city hall, the royal palace, the opera house, and ate at a mcdonalds (I spent 35 Krones on a cheeseburger…which is $7). And at the souvenir shop I didn’t know what to get (because Norway’s the most expensive country in Europe) so I just bought a stuffed animal sheep :)

Before dinner I downed 2 strawberry daquiris and they were delicious! In the morning I slept through all my alarms, everyone knocking on my door, and the announcements. Finally when my last cabinmate was leaving she said “You might want to get up soon everyone’s off the ship” so I packed my stuff really fast and ran downstairs. We all piled on a bus but then we found out our bus driver failed his own breathalyzer so we all had to get out and wait for another bus lolll.

When we got back from the cruise, we found out there had been a HUGE storm in Copenhagen while we were gone so most of the metro stops were closed because they were flooded. In our dorm, the entire basement and ground floor were flooded (including people’s rooms and the laundry room) and also all our internet went out. So we just watched movies in one of my neighbor’s room because we couldn’t even do homework!

Mon, July 4
It was the Fourth of July so everyone was skipping class and our dorm had a huge party/BBQ. My roommate bought an entire new outfit just for that one day lol. And of course everyone went out to the bars that night. I just chilled and watched a movie with my neighbors.

Tues, July 5
After class we went to the Copenhagen beach! It was beautifulll :) the water, the sky, the sand, the sun. Plus the weather was perfect! And I got a nice tan hehe.

I am having such an amazinnggg time here! The weather is so nice, I get enough exercise every day, I don’t eat a lot because everything’s so expensive, and I’m meeting people from all over the world :)

P.S. SORRY I WROTE SO MUCH AGAIN!

Day 3 already??

I can’t believe time is already flying by! I’ve been constantly busy since I’ve arrived and I finally have a break now that it’s Sunday.

Recap of my plane rides:
-Suitcase was 9 lbs over the weight limit so I had to carry those extra 9 lbs on my shoulders :(
-Ate a happy meal alone in the airport. I got a Pokemon toy in it that I was going to save for Alice…but then I threw away my trash and had to go back and get the Pokemon out of the trash lol. You better love me forever for saving it!
-Fell asleep within 20 min of the flight while watching Limitless. Slept pretty much the entire 9 hour flight so that helped with my jet-lag when I arrived in London at 10:30am.
-Bought a sandwich and water in the London airport wit my Euros but then got back British pounds :/ So useless cus I can’t use it anywhere else.
-Met so many interesting people on my flight
On my flight to London, talked to the guy on my right the entire time. He graduated from Rice and worked at an engineering firm; now he quit his job and sold his house so that he can travel for a year, starting in Amsterdam, make his way through Africa, and then through Asia until Singapore.
On my flight to Copenhagen, met this 16-year-old Danish Asian girl who had lived in New Hampshire for a year to go to high school. When we boarded the plane we found out our seats were right next to each other!

Now I’m officially at the International Summer University Program at Copenhagen Business School. It’s the largest business school in Europe! There’s 8 other people from UT who are here with me. And I’ve met so many different people from around the world already! Australia, Canada, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, and a lot of people from the states.

So far the weather here has been pretty chilly! It’s like a late fall/winter-ish in Texas…like 50s and 60s. Yesterday I wore a cute tank, jeans, sperrys, cardigan, scarf and I was still cold! The sun hides behind clouds and tall buildings a lot plus it’s pretty breezy. And the craziest thing is the sun only goes down for about 3 hours every night! When I was walking home at 1am I could finally see stars, but by the time I was about to sleep at 4am the sky was already lighting up! I heard that in the winter the sun only comes UP for 3 hours lol.The streets are cobblestone so I have blisters on my feet even though I’m wearing sperrys cus of all the friction. The currency here is the Danish Krone (DKK) and it’s like a 1:5 (or 5:1?) ratio, so 20 DKK is 4 USD!

My dorm is Katherine Kollegiat and is a 20 min walk to the main campus. I can also take the metro but I haven’t figured out how to buy a month-long pass yet. My roommate is Ella Forrest and she’s from Oregon, along with 24 other people from their state who are here for the program. Our room is pretty huge cus we’re the last room in the hall so we have the entire corner and we have our own little kitchenette(?) in our room but it’s kinda dirty. There’s no air conditioning because the weather outside is always cool. We don’t have wireless internet in our rooms so Ella and I have to hook up to a router that we share. There’s 6 floors in my dorm and both single and double rooms. I think I heard there’s about 100 people total? And all the dorms are pretty far apart from each other (there’s 13 dorms total).

Our main building, Solbjerg Plads, is beautiful!! Glass ceilings, classical music playing outside, and the inside is also amazing. I’ll probably be able to describe it better after I’ve gone to class a few times. Omg there’s a mall RIGHT next to the school! And there’s a huge H&M that’s 2 floors!!

The Danish babies here are all soooo adorable!! Fluffy blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes :) Also everyone here rides bikes and there are bike lanes on the street and bike racks everywhere. There’s a cute bakery 2 blocks from my dorm and I got a chocolate croissant for 11 DKK. At the grocery stores you have to bring your own bag or else you have to pay for a bag to put your groceries in. Oh, also, everyone here drinks sooo much. The drinking age is 16 so as soon as I got here everyone was going to the stores to get beer and liquor. I can’t read anything on the streets or in the stores cus everything’s in Danish! It’s been impossible to buy food here because the restaurants are all pretty pricey and we don’t really know how to buy food in the groceries. My roommate just bought milk and she picked the one with a picture of a cow on it hahaa.

On Saturday we had an informational meeting in a huge auditorium at 3pm, then a Welcome BBQ buffet at 6pm, and then a welcome party with happy hour drinks at the school’s student bar, Nexus, from 9pm til 2am! At the BBQ, our drink choices were beer, wine, or soda lol. I got water but they only had sparkling :\ Then I hung out with my UT friends before we headed back to school for the party which was pretty much like a club/bar.

So pretty much a LOT has happened within the past 2 days and luckily my jet-lag isn’t too bad. There are events planned for almost every single weekend except one so far (but I’m sure there will be something to do anyways). I have classes MW 14.25-17 (Doing Business In Europe) and TTh 8.55-11.30 (Intro to Marketing). Hehe that’s how they write the time here :) I’m only 7 hours ahead in time so you guys can Skype me whenever I’m on!

somuchswaglayuhh:

I’m getting really nervous about going to Denmark, not even excited. My flight leaves tonight at 7:50 pm and it’s a 9-hour flight to London, then another 2 hours to Copenhagen. When I get to Copenhagen at 5:30 pm, it’ll be 10:30 am in Dallas! I’m really nervous about flying because I get really bad motion sickness and this will be my first time maneuvering international airports alone.

I somehow finally squeezed everything into my suitcase and I’m carrying an extra outfit (or two) onto the plane so I can change during my stop in London. When I land in Copenhagen, there’s a 20% chance of rain and a high of 63 degrees. I gave myself a last minute mani/pedi and cleaning up my room a bit so it looks nice when I get back. I’m going to miss the comfort of my home and my car and my smart phone. Luckily I’ll have internet access and Facebook there (unlike in China) so I’ll still be able to keep in touch.

This doesn’t even feel real yet. I’m looking around my room and my suitcase is packed but I feel like I’m just taking a trip to Austin or something. Hopefully when I’m sitting around in the airport or flying across the ocean, the reality of it will all hit me. Wish me luck on my flight and don’t try to call my cellphone! Farvel!

I’m so terrible at underpacking. I’m leaving for...

I’m so terrible at underpacking. I’m leaving for Denmark in 2 days and I’m supposed to pack light. This is what I’ve ended up with so far.

It’s so hard knowing that I’ll be apart from my stuff for 6 weeks if I don’t bring it. Also the weather in Copenhagen is a high of 65 and low of 45 so I have to bring clothes for both warm and cool weather. Everything I’ve read online says to wear a lot of layers, which I really suck at. I know I can always buy clothes in Denmark if I need to, even though sales tax is like 25%. I know I can do laundry there but I hate using unfamiliar washers and detergents. I need someone really logical and critical to help me narrow down my wardrobe :/ Aside from my clothes, I’m bringing 7 pairs of shoes and haven’t even started packing my toiletries. Also I don’t know what kind of purse to bring! This is so stressful.

Babies

WARNING: Sorry this is super creepy!

I really like babies :) They are so adorable the way they can’t talk and they waddle and it’s like an emotional guessing game to try to figure out what they want or what they’re thinking. Their cheeks are so pudgy and supple and their little hair is so soft. I also love looking at little baby clothes and OMG LITTLE BABY SHOES! And socks! Everything they do is so adorable (except poop and diapers and spit up and slobber). And I realized I mostly like animals that resemble babies, like cute kittens, puppies, rabbits…anything small and cuddly. I helped out at my church’s nursery last month and it was soo much fun playing with a fat bald baby for a whole hour until he fell asleep and drooled all over my hair and shoulder. And I love malls on weekends because there are so many families with little kids running around. Okay I sound super creepy, but I hope one day I’ll love one enough to make it my own :)

Hello

I think I’m going to try to use tumblr more. I’m leaving for study abroad in Denmark on Jun 23 so I’m going to write about my trip on tumblr! Last month someone asked me how was my...

Today someone congratulated me on finishing lambda lil sis. Last month someone asked me how was my asian sorority. Last week someone asked me about my business sorority. Why is everyone so confused about what organizations I’m involved in? And why are all these assumptions flying around? I can’t tell if I’m flattered that people think I’m social enough to do all these orgs, or if I’m offended that they would think I’d associate myself with people with such different values from me.

If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that the people I surround myself with are going to influence me no matter how hard I try because I’m so susceptible to it. If I choose to hang out with people who’s values I don’t agree with, they’ll slowly but surely make me change my mind little by little. This is probably why I almost never have cliques, and if I do I’m really careful about it. I don’t like being in situations where the people who are supposed to be my friends are pressuring me even though I’ve told them no. Or if someone who I considered a close friend keeps choosing to make bad decisions and eventually starts to keep secrets from me because they’re afraid I’m going to reprimand them for their actions. I do it out of love because I want my friends to lead good lives and so I can surround myself with people who’s values I think are worthy of my respect. Of course everyone will have some flaws but I think whats important is to evaluate what their intentions are. If they’re just trying to “live the college life” and experiment and try things out cus they’ll “never get another chance,” I feel like their intentions are to make as many mistakes as they can while they have their freebie in college. Maybe it’s just the way I was raised but I’m sure most of my friends were raised with similar expectations. I wouldn’t want to waste my parents money or feel guilty every time I talk to them.

Omgsh I need to stop ranting. Tumblr is becoming my diary. The point is that I’m frustrated with people’s perception of me and wanted to clear it up. That is all.
